The Chao Praya Catfish although not currently on visiting anglers radars, is perhaps one of Thailand's best sportfish. With very high speed takes and runs, and incredible stamina, a 50lb Chao Praya Catfish can easily carry on doing battle with the fisherman, for in excess of 30 minutes, but in recent years anglers have discovered that some of Thailand's lakes do in fact have some very big specimens, with at least 4 venues with fish over 100lbs, and one venue with one or two fish perhaps closer to 200lbs!
